At Hooked Fishing Gear, we stand behind the quality of our products. While our gear is manufactured in high volumes to meet global demand, we remain committed to ensuring our customers receive reliable, high-performing fishing tackle.
This warranty policy outlines our procedures and terms for rods and lures sold under the Noeby brand through authorised retail partners.
Terms & Conditions
Rod Warrenty
⦁ This warranty covers Noeby rods sold by authorised retail partners outside of China.
⦁ The warranty is valid only for 1 years from the original purchase date and applies to failures occurring under normal fishing conditions.
⦁ Our warranty exclusively covers the rod blank. Components such as guides, reel seats, and thread wrappings are not covered unless there is clear evidence of a manufacturing defect — for example, a reel seat becoming loose due to improper adhesive application, or any other component failing due to incorrect factory assembly.
In the event of a breakage not covered under warranty, the customer will be responsible for:
⦁ Covering the full cost of the replacement part or product at its declared value
⦁ Paying all associated shipping costs, taxes, and handling fees related to the claim
⦁ If the customer believes the breakage is due to a blank manufacturing fault, they may send the broken part to our inspection centre. All shipping costs to the centre are the customer’s responsibility. If a manufacturing fault is confirmed, we will cover the return shipping of the replacement part.
⦁ A valid proof of purchase (receipt) is required for all warranty claims. Claims without a dated receipt will not be accepted.
⦁ Customers must complete a warranty form describing how the damage occurred. Failure to provide this may result in the claim being rejected.
⦁ Only one claim per rod is allowed during the warranty period.
⦁ Rods that have been discontinued for over 1 years may no longer be eligible for replacement parts, alternative arrangement can be made where a client may receive a credit to a declared value for the purchase of a replacement part.
⦁ Noeby South Africa’s warranty does not cover rods purchased from unauthorised dealers or unauthorised resellers.
Noeby Product Warranty
We offer a limited warranty on all Noeby products, including lures, tools, accessories, and related items.
⦁ First-use failure:
If a Noeby product fails during its first use due to a manufacturing defect (e.g., a lure fills with water or does not swim correctly), and has not been misused or modified, we will offer a free replacement.
⦁ Proof of purchase:
A valid receipt or invoice must be provided to initiate a warranty claim.
⦁ Verification:
Photos or videos may be requested to verify the issue and confirm the nature of the failure.
Noeby Reel Warranty
We offer a limited warranty on all Noeby reels against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
Warranty Coverage:

⦁ 1-year limited warranty from the original date of purchase.
⦁ Proof of purchase (receipt or invoice) is required.
What is covered:
⦁ Manufacturer defects in materials or assembly
⦁ Internal mechanical failure not caused by misuse
⦁ Faulty components such as gears, handles, or drag systems if due to factory error
Exclusions
Rod Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
⦁ Rusty or damaged guides
⦁ Loose wrappings or epoxy wear
⦁ Reel seat corrosion or thread failure
⦁ Loss or submersion of parts
⦁ Damage from poor maintenance or abuse
⦁ Impact-related breakage (e.g., rod drops, high sticking)
⦁ Modifications or repairs done by third parties
⦁ Cosmetic wear (fading, scuffs, peeling)
⦁ Misuse or use outside of intended purpose:
Any breakage or damage resulting from using the rod in a manner not intended by its design (e.g. targeting fish species beyond the recommended line class or lure rating, or using the rod for trolling, lifting heavy objects, etc.) will not be covered under warranty.
⦁ Breakage from extreme stress, misuse, or rough handling
Noeby Product Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
⦁ Damage caused by misuse or use outside the intended purpose
⦁ Loss of product (e.g., line break-off, snagging)
⦁ Modifications, such as hook or hardware changes
⦁ Normal wear and tear from regular use
⦁ Damage from toothy species if the product was not designed for that purpose (e.g., bite-throughs from mackerel or barracuda)
Noeby Reel Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
⦁ Damage due to misuse, impact, or neglect
⦁ Corrosion due to lack of maintenance (e.g., failure to rinse after saltwater use)
⦁ Normal wear and tear, including bearings, drag washers, and cosmetic blemishes, after six months from the original purchase date. Modifications or repairs by unauthorized parties
⦁ Damage caused by using the reel for purposes other than intended
